The First Land Series Novel One: The Broken Doorway

The balance of the universe rests on the shoulders of a 12 year old girl named Charlie Arrania Chapel. Raised by her father after the untimely death of her mother, Charlie was content to spend her days on their farm in Appleton, Maine. Fate had other plans. After being sent away to a boarding school up the coast, Charlie tumbles through a gateway into Chead Talamh, a world of old magic and even older secrets. There she confronts the Sidhe, an ancient race of Faerie who’s world has been unbalanced for eons. Broken in two by civil war and terrorized by Morrigan, the Queen of the Dubh, or dark. Charlie must navigate through this perilous land to face the ruthless Queen. She is aided in her quest by a gallery of characters. Micah, a kind, elder fairy, turned professor sworn to protect Charlie and her family. Umbrale, a brave female warrior, loyal to the ancient laws of her land who guides Charlie and gives her strength. Alhummud, a traveling companion who also tumbled through a gateway from his own distant world. And Max, her best friend, who transcends the two worlds to try to protect her. All of their fates are inexorably tied with Charlie’s as she travels deeper into Chead Talamh learning of it’s connection to her and her family. Her mother is alive but bound by the rules of ancient magic and locked in Morrigan’s castle. To save her mother and get back home, Charlie must travel deep within herself to make the right choices but is she ready to? Will she make the choice of fulfilling her destiny and the responsibility that carry’s with it? What does her choice spell for the Sidhe, the human race and the balance of universe as a whole? The right path is not always the easiest one to take. In the end, it’s up to Charlie to choose.
